Welcome! and Thank you for listening!
Today, I have the pleasure of speaking with Chris Wark who has put colon cancer in the rear view mirror for 17 years! He decided not to go with traditional chemotherapy and instead took a deep dive into diet and lifestyle changes.
Medical decision making is very difficult especially when dealing with a frightening diagnosis of cancer. I believe this episode will give everyone the courage and confidence to ask questions and take charge of their health whether you are dealing with an illness or are trying to live as healthy as possible.

January is the month for weight loss. Get it off and move on. Or, return to eating like you want to. That is not the recipe for health, but a quick fix at best.
How do you loose weight without suffering? How do you reverse lifestyle diseases and also loose weight? Why not just have a procedure or take a pill. Why is it so hard to stick to a program? What is your why anyway????
Let's make health positive and fun! I hope you enjoy the episode. If you have questions, email me at jami@doctordulaney.com. Please visit the website at doctordulaney.com. We would love to have you as a member of our plant based wellness practice.

Feed a fever; starve a fever? If you can sit up and take nourishment, you are going to be ok? What are good food choices when ill?
I am recovering from COVID-19. Yes I had a positive PCR test and the symptoms. Ten days I returned to work, and I am beginning to resume my running at a slow and cautious amount and pace.
Today I will discuss fasting and illness and the benefits from fasting with regard to immune health. One thing we know for sure is that being overweight increases the severity of COVID and other illnesses secondary to chronic inflammation and an overtaxed immune system.
It is still possible to purchase a ticket to our Zoom nutrition conference January 13, 2021. Go on over to doctordulaney.com for details. Email me at jami@doctordulaney.com with questions. We would love to help you introduce someone to the health benefits of plant based nutrition or jump start your own journey. Thursday Dec 31, 2020
Welcome! and Thank you for listening. I am a plant based cardiologist and endurance athlete. However, I am currently on a healing journey from COVID. I am getting better. How did I get it? Is it easy or hard to contract?
Asymptomatic or presymptomatic spread? Outdoor spread? We will discuss on all of that as well as the treatment that I am utilizing and recommending for my members.
Vitamin C- liposomal is the easiest to tolerate. I am trying for minimal of 10 grams a day.
Vitamin D3- from the sun but I am taking more for COVID. 15000 IU daily until I am well. Levels to follow
Quercetin: 250 twice daily.
Zinc 250 mg daily
These are mega doses not RDA. They are as a treatment and not daily minimums. There are no risks involved.

Have you heard the song; A Few of My Favorite Things? This episode has a few of my favorite things I find beautiful. The little things that can make your day. If little things make you smile, perhaps finding the little but beautiful things in a healthy lifestyle can also make your day better.
Change is hard. Learning something new or creating a new habit is also challenging. If you can find a little piece of beauty or joy in the change, it is better. Piece a few little things together, and over time it becomes a beautiful change.
I will share with you my menu planning strategies. If you find them interesting or would like to share them with friends, we are offering a one night zoom menu planning conference. Addie Majnaric, RDN and I will be preparing a few favorite entrees that are plant based twists on familiar foods the whole family enjoys. Go on over to doctordulaney.com to purchase your gift tickets for the conference. It will also make a great stocking stuffer for those you would like to give the gift of health.

Welcome! and Thank you for listening!
We all want to be healthy, but many of us struggle with the change to a healthy lifestyle. What gets in the way. Spoiler alert, you are supporting it on your shoulders, and perhaps in your heart. Sure, there are roadblocks everywhere, but they don't stop you from getting where you really want to go! Perhaps it is not what is stopping you, but really what you are running from.
The holiday season is difficult for many people. The pressure for perfection can be overwhelming. Perhaps a different view is in order. A view that looks at the simple signs of hope and peace all around us. The efforts people make to show they care. I hope you find some of my suggestions helpful.
Take a moment to enjoy the silence. Take your nutrition back to the basics. Fruits and vegetables in their natural form without adding toxins and distractions. Do something simple but thoughtful for someone and observe their reaction and then yours. Peace and happiness is not as hard to find as you might expect. You just have to appreciate it in small doses.

Jami Dulaney MD Plant Based Wellness Podcast Episode 280: Happy Thanksgiving
Tuesday Nov 24, 2020
Tuesday Nov 24, 2020
Welcome! and Thank you for listening!
Happy Plant Strong Thanksgiving. I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with gratitude and nutrients to make you and your family happy and healthy into the New Year.
When did Thanksgiving first become a holiday of overindulgence? Joshepha Hale lobbied to get Thanksgiving to be an official United States Holiday in 184 , and it was she who wrote the first official menu that included turkey. It was not until 1989 that George Bush Senior pardoned the first turkey at the White House.
We all have fond memories of holidays, and luckily, the stressful parts become funny stories for the future. I don't believe I have heard anyone reference a particular year when the food was the best. It is really the fiascos that make the memory books. Yet, we continue to try to make each holiday storybook perfect.
This podcast touches on a few of those traditions in my house, and touches on my current Thanksgiving menu which is nothing like it was when I was young. I am thankful for my family, their health, and my friends. I am grateful for the support of my members and podcast followers. I appreciate the opportunity to provide healthcare and guidance to those trusting me with their care. You are all a part of my family.
If you would like to give the gift of health this year, Addie and I have decided to offer a Zoom nutrition class demonstrating how to take 2 regular breakfast, lunch and dinners and make them plant based. We will do a discussion on the health benefits of a plant based diet and take questions. The recording will then be available for a week after for those gift card holders to view. Below is a link to purchase.
