Welcome! and Thank you for listening. I am dedicating this episode to a favorite patient, Whinnie. She will forever inspire me to be a better person each day by serving others, and to live each day to the fullest.
We all have to do lists. What about what not to do lists. What could we stop doing that would make our health better. Little changes can go a long way to improve ones health. Just because we are stuck in a rut eating the same foods and spending our days in the same ways does not mean that is is the best version of ourselves. What are you going to do today to make yourself a better person? What are you waiting for?
Let food and movement be your medicine. Showcase beautiful and nutritious fruits and vegetables to your friends and family. Show them you care by sharing healthy nutrition. Be the example of continued improvements to your own health and wellness each day.
Join me along with Alan Goldhamer, DC, Eric O'Gray, Addie Majnaric, RDN for a day of plant based celebration at the 4th Annual Charlotte County Plant Based Nutrition Conference March 30, 2019 in Punta Gorda, Florida. Purchase your tickets before sales close in 2 weeks by going to doctordulaney.com and clicking the link. Email me with questions at jami@doctordulaney.com.

Welcome! and Thank you for listening. We are learning more everyday about the role of microbes in health and wellness. We continue to learn more about metabolism in health and in illness. Yet somehow, it never gets past the journals. It never gets implemented or promoted in peoples lives. Not all published research is accurate, and sometimes researcher publish to publish instead of taking more time to do more in depth studies. That can be very dangerous when it comes to medications. We want cures released quickly, but we don't want the potential side effects of such quick adoption of new therapies.
That is where we as individuals can take control. Today, I discuss some research papers on the microbiota, exercise, and metabolism. We know that eating a whole foods, high fiber, plant based diet is the best way to maintain a healthy microbiota. That healthy microbiota can be passed from mother to child giving them the best possible start on a healthy life just by breast feeding. No gimmicks. We also know that we can heal our blood vessels just by eating healthy nitric oxide producing foods and eliminating the junk food. Exercise increases blood flow and the delivery of those nutrients to our bodies and stimulates improved metabolic pathways.
So eat fruit, vegetables and whole grains. Exercise daily and often. Get up every hour and move. Get out in the sunshine. Breath deep and thank you for listening to this podcast. If you enjoy it, please share with your friends.

Welcome! and Thank you for listening. Addie and I talk about the SW Florida Vegefest that we attended this past weekend and much more. I have had three talks in the last week at three different venues. I believe they all served each audience differently. The first two were directed at audiences new to plant based nutrition and how it can reverse lifestyle diseases. The audience at the SW Vegefest was familiar with vegan nutrition, but were challenged by how a whole foods plant based nutrition program could make their health even better. I believe that we never should stop striving for better versions of ourselves. Whether that involves nutrition, fitness, or mindfulness, we can all strive to be better. Finding the best aspects of veganism and plant based nutrition can only make the world a better place, and a more positive experience for all of us.
It is not about pointing fingers or making others look less authentic but to bring a positive message of hope for a brighter future for all beings.
Addie and I would like to invite you to join us along with Alan Goldhamer and Eric O'Grey at the 4th Annual Charlotte County Plant Based Nutrition Conference March 30, 2019 in Punta Gorda, Florida. Please go to doctordulaney.com and click on the link to purchase your tickets. There are a limited number of private consultations with Addie and myself on Friday, March 29, 2019 as well. Welcome! and thank you for listening. Sorry for the lack of a podcast last week. It has been complicated. We lost a member of our canine family that was near and dear to our hearts. I flew to Atlanta to be with Addie after her best friend Kimba passed.
This episode is a short get you up to date podcast on why I did not start the Thrill in the Hills race. There is a short clip from Addie as she tears up the course to a great finish on her first 50K.
I also discuss my mission to help German Shepherd Dogs avoid cancer. As a plant based physician, I cannot accept that we cannot help dog prevent cancer as well.
I will be at the SWFlorida VegFest in Bonita Springs, Florida next weekend as a speaker. Addie Majnaric RDN will also be joining me so stop by and say Hi. You can find out more information at SWFLVegFest.org.
Head on over to doctordulaney.com to get your tickets for our 4th Annual Charlotte County Plant Based Nutrition Conference, March 30,2019. You can also sign up for our free newsletter that has monthly plant strong recipes and wellness tips. Addie and I will be doing private consultations on March 29,2019. Welcome! and thank you for listening. Today, I am honored to have Ocean Robbins as my guest. He is the CEO of The Food Revolution Network at foodrevolution.org If you have not listened to these, I reccommend them. He and his father interview many inspirational and knowledgable leaders in the healthy food, healthy world arena.
Today we discuss the release of his new book; 31-Day Food Revolution-Heal your body, feel great, and transform your world. It is available on Amazon as well as ther book retailers. Check out his website 31dayfoodrevolution.com.
The book addresses the environmental as well as health reasons to choose plant based nutrition. One of the points Ocean makes that I loved and also try to convey in my nutritional classes, is that we get joy from being around people that we love by our interactions. It is the same way with our food. By choosing live plant foods, and mindfully preparing them, we can experience joy and gratitude in sharing health with our friends and family, as well as contributing to a better ethical and healthy environment.
I hope you enjoy this interview. Don't forget to check out doctordulaney.com to purchase your tickets for the 4th Annual Charlotte County Plant Based Nutrition Conference, March 30, 2019. Email me at Jami@doctordulaney.com, with questions.

Welcome and Thank you for listening! I am excited to announce that Eric O' Grey will be joining us for the 4th Annual Charlotte County Plant Based Nutrition Conference, March 30,2019 in Punta Gorda, Florida. Go to the website at doctordulaney.com to check out more details and purchase your tickets. I will also be doing private consultations on Friday, March 29,2019 along with Addie Dulaney Majnaric. We look forward to meeting each and everyone of you.
Remember watching your children try to walk. They never give up. Somewhere along the way, we get tired of the struggle and lean how to give up. We find reasons to quit or find an easier path. Perhaps the pain clouds our vision of hope. When you decide to change your nutrition to plant based, you have to start from where you are and then look to where you would like to be. That vision can often get clouded. Today I would like to start with your current state of nutrition, and then look at the story you tell about yourself that makes your progress difficult. Finally, let's develop a strategy that keep you moving forward.
In the meantime don't forget your greens. There is a lot more to the nitric oxide story than just your blood vessels.
Email me at Jami@doctordulaney.com with questions. Check out the website to find out about the conference tickets, and how to join our wellness tribe.

Welcome! and Thank you for listening. Instead of looking at how fast you can get healthy, perhaps let's focus on getting a little better everyday. January is the month to go out hard and try to become healthy as quick as possible so that we can revert back to our old habits as soon as possible. Usually, the means loose weight and exercise only to gain it all back and drop the gym membership.
There is nothing better than deciding to change your nutrition to plant based. But for a lot of people that is a huge change. It can seem like there are so many rules that it is impossible to follow. Do you really have to give up everything you love in order to become healthy? The "other" diets let you eat meat and cheese and eggs as much as you want. These are familiar tasty foods. You don't have to learn a different way to cook. In fact you don't have to cook at all. You can eat out completely and be paleo or keto. So why suffer with learning to cook, shop and eat vegetables that you never have eaten?
What about exercise? Is there a minimum or maximum that we need to do. Is there a benefit to more?
These are a few of the topics in this week's discussion. Spoiler alert. It is going to be ok, and yes, the health benefits of eating plant based are worth a little education. We would love to help you. Visit doctordulaney.com after listening to this episode. Perhaps you would like to become an online member of the practice. You can sign up for our monthly newsletter to get recipes and wellness tips each month. Welcome, and Thank you for listening. This week's nutrition discussion centers around choosing. Is dairy worse than sugar? Is it ok if it might be plant based? Do you really want to leave your comfort zone and join those of us who are focused on health?
We will discuss that topic and the topic of fueling for exercise. What does the human body burn for exercise and what do we need to do to replace what is lost. It is amazing that after all these years of being on the planet we are wired to worry about not getting enough. The worry only seems to dim when we are stuffed to capacity with high calorie foods. Picture the lion laying in the savannah after a feast, or the bear going to hibernate. I get it for them. They have to work to find food and it can be scarce for days. Look around where you are right now. I bet you can spot a source of food. It might be in your hand. We exercise to get our muscles stronger and to keep our bodies lean. Yet the advertisers know just how to get you worried by warning to consume these fats and these branch chained amino acids. They come along with very confident articles on just how your body burns fuel.
Spoiler alert: The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute says "much remains to be learned about free fatty acid metabolism during exercise" We will talk about that and much more.
Don't forget to get your tickets to the 4th Annual Charlotte County Plant Based Nutrition Conference on March 30, 2019. Go to doctordulaney.com to learn more and purchase your tickets. You can also schedule a consultation with me or Addie Dulaney Majnaric RDN the day before the conference. Email me at jami@doctordulaney.com with any questions.

Welcome and thank you for listening! Happy New Year! I have had a few emails asking about what my plant based medical practice is like. I also had a PA student interested in incorporating plant based nutrition into training shadow me for a couple of days. It was a big difference from energy packed hospital rotations. No emergencies, laid back, taking time to talk extensively to patients and even cook for them. No adrenal rushes of trying to save a life in danger. Just happy healthy members becoming better ever day as they learn more about plant based nutrition and movement. I admitted that I was afraid of not having the adrenaline rush of taking care of critically ill patients at first. Then I realized that that adrenaline rush could be reversed by education of those same patients on how to reverse lifestyle diseases.
80% of hospital admissions could be prevented if we can get people to realized the relationship food and movement has to lifestyle diseases. But it takes time. A 10 minute office visit cannot accomplish this.
This episode dives into this discussion as well as exciting new goals for the up coming year.
Come join me and my staff this spring for a day of plant based education and enlightenment at our 4th Annual Charlotte County Plant Based Nutrition Conference March 30, 2019. Go to doctordulaney.com and click on the link to purchase your tickets. You can also secure your spot for a private consultation with me or Addie Dulaney Majnaric the day before.
