Jami Dulaney MD Plant Based Wellness Podcast Episode 322-Give to Get and Get to Give

7Oct

Welcome! and Thank you for listening.  I would also like to thank those attending the webinar and for all of your wonderful feedback.

One of the features of Blue Zoners or octogenarians as noted by Dan Buettner is their social connectedness or sense of purpose.  Sometimes we link our occupation to our sense of purpose so much that we out it we become isolated.  Occupation and family are linked with a sense of purpose traditionally, but there are many other things that can link us to other people.  Belonging to a specific group or community can also provide a strong sense of purpose.

Interacting with others is somewhat like a chemical bond in that energy is released and shared. That energy can be felt in a variety of ways.  Some of which are motivation and joy.  The simplest of acts such as a good morning or noticing someone's name tag can change  both the recipient and the givers mood.  Cheering for strangers result in new found energy for them in a race.  The football team is motivated to keep trying.  In the world of social media, sharing your creativity or acknowledging someone else's can be motivating.  The smallest acts can have profound impact, and it starts with one person giving a little of themselves to start the ball rolling.

I challenge you to make someones day.  I hope I make yours.
