Welcome! and Thank you for listening!. I am joined by Addie Majnaric, RDN. Plant based nutrition has served her and her newborn, Caleb, well through COVID, pregnancy, delivery and recovery. The baby receives genetic information from mother and father, but also the genes from the mothers microbes. Eating healthy plant based diet benefits both mom and baby.
Caleb was a full term baby weighing 7 lb and 13 ounces. No pulmonary or nasal congestion. His Apgar scores were excellent and the transition to breast feeding was great. Plant strong babies rock!
Are your ready for hurricane season? We will give you some pointers to prepare plant based. There is much less risk of food borne illnesses eating plant based with power outages associated with storms.

Welcome! and Thank you for Listening. Welcome Caleb James to the world at 11:32 pm on Thursday evening. I am so thankful for a healthy grandson, daughter and son in law.
Today's podcast is about putting compassion and common sense back into health care. We had a scare with COVID testing that could have turned out much worse for no sound medical reasoning. After having been in health care in many different settings, I have some observations and suggestions.
Perhaps the theme today is harmony. Let's all just get along. You, me, bacteria, viruses, and every other creature. Yes, I know there is a struggle that is called life, but perhaps we are making it more impersonal and complicated than it needs to be.
Do you like bread? I will share my thoughts.
I rant a little today, but mainly I am grateful for the gift of life. Enjoy!
We have the solution to taking back control over your health and we would love to share it with you. Visit our website at doctordulaney.com
thank you

Welcome! and Thank you for listening. Can you just stop medications? Your doctor may say you can never stop your medications. What if you ask why? Are you an annoying patient because you ask questions or question the answers? These situations lead to distrust and confusion. What is your roll in becoming healthy. Will your risk be decreased if you are plant based.
There could not be a time of more medical confusion or doubt. Who do you trust when there are not any experts. Do we go by what we want to hear or take the worst case scenario?
I encourage you to ask questions and more questions. I encourage you to be the director of your health decisions after you have taken in all of the answers. Remember, I don't know is a valid answer in times like these, and the person who says I don't know may be the most honest in the room.
Enjoy the podcast and remember; wash your hands and be kind to strangers. You do not know their struggles. Go to doctordulaney.com and sign up for our newsletter to get monthly wellness tips and an invitation to our virtual practice tour coming this summer. Email me with questions and by all means get outside and get some sunshine.

Welcome! and Thank you for listening. This episode discusses two ways to improve health. One is through new interventions that may carry unknown risks and limited benefits. The other is a slower approach to health through plant based nutrition and exercise. We have the amazing capacity to heal if we provide our bodies an opportunity and take away offending agents. Time heals all wounds as a wise person once said. But many of us are in a rush. We want things now, and unfortunately forget that bias not only affects us but others in decision making. We fail to ask how and why and assume that it must be ok.
Most of you know that greens improve nitric oxide production. Do greens make us bullet proof? How does exercise improve our health? Can we make a sick heart better? Can our bodies heal if we take away the offending agents? Do you want to be in control of your health or wait on a magic cure?
I believe that we have a lot more control over our health than a lot of people would have you believe. I also think that fear will not contribute positively to our health.
Enjoy the episode. Email me with questions at jami@doctordulaney.com . Visit the website at doctordulaney.com to find out how you can reverse heart disease and maybe even run a marathon.

Welcome! and Thank you for listening. This is a fun episode tying together several of the latest episodes. If you are a golfer you will want to hear why Tiger Woods has back pain and Arnold Palmer had a much longer career. You will understand why Venus Williams grunts during a tennis serve and how mobility may be causing you more harm than good in some cases. Do you slave in the kitchen batch cooking only to order out or end up throwing those frozen concoctions away?
Has COVID made your present and future quality or quantity of life better? Does common sense and compassion vanished in the last few months?
Yes I will give you my perspective on these topics today. Remember it is mine. I hope you also have a perspective, and it does not have to be the same as mine for me to respect you and welcome your emails or comments.
Let's be kind to each other. I am sure it will make the world a better place.
Thank you for listening. I would love for you to share this podcast with your friends. Check out our website to find out how a compassionate wellness medical practice works. We would love to have you on our team.

Jami Dulaney MD Plant Based Wellness Podcast Episode 252 with Jeff Galloway

Welcome! and Thank you for listening. Plant based nutrition gives you a lot of energy. The next step is upping your exercise. The American Heart Association suggests 150 minutes of cardiovascular exercise each week. This is a minimum. In fact there is no amount of exercise that has been shown to decrease cardiac fitness.
Exercise is the best medicine to treat depression and reduce stress. It has even been shown to improve memory. As we age we loose muscle and bone mass often leading to joint instability and failure resulting in a need for replacement. The best way to build muscle and bone is to do weight bearing exercise and running is the perfect fit.
If you have not ran in a while or have told yourself you cannot run, it may just be a perception that has been holding you back.
Today's episode with Jeff Galloway will show you that you can run at any age and even complete a marathon! We discussed his Run Walk Run method that decreases the risk of injury and eases you into running longer and longer distances.
Put your shoes on, and take this episode for a walk or a run, walk, run. If you are interested in learning more or would be interested in a plant based running weekend. Go on over to doctordulaney.com and check out some video links to the episode as well. Our members will get a link to the complete video.

Key points:
Create proximal stiffness to improve distal power. Training should give more than it takes away. Today's society sits too much and walks too little. Strategic stiffness is key to healthy and improved performance.
No athlete or person desiring healthy movement will want to miss this interview. Enjoy!

Welcome! and Thank you for listening! Today's episode is timely. It is spring, and there is hope for new life as we emerge from winter. There is hope that the COVID-19 virus is not a virulent as some would suggest and that the infected numbers are going down and people are getting well. There is hope that we have learned what we can do to make ourselves more healthy to fight infectious disease and stress.
Today I speak of a personal perspective on Hope. Hope should never be taken away. How doing something is better than doing nothing. The little things do really matter, and positive thoughts do really matter. I believe this is one of my most important podcasts because everyone can relate. Motivational speeches inspire for a while, but we really need to focus on what we can do. Action. I believe the best version of ourselves can only be attained by moving forward. Celebrate what you can do today, and build on that tomorrow. I will never take anyone's hope away. I believe everyone has a chance at health. But, you have to have a plan. Welcome! and Thank you for listening. Covid-19 continues to dominate healthcare concerns. We are all becoming experts at social distancing and hand washing. This is a time to improve our baseline health so that we can survive these seemingly more virulent infections. Our body's immune system is our best line of defense, but when we have chronic lifestyle diseases we are in a baseline weakened state.
Is well controlled Diabetes enough? How much of your health span are you willing to compromise. Improving your health starts at you plate. Between each meal your body movement counts. I discuss this and more on today's episode.
